Birdz-4 session sculpture class

This four session class will introduce you to the art of bird modeling in clay. 

1. The first session will meet at Vancouver's Art Hub. We will start with a tutorial in armature building. This is the support system that we will use throughout the class to support the ceramic "skin" of the birds. This session will provide you with the basic skills/knowledge to create the bird(z) of your dreams in the following sessions. 

1st session address: The Art Hub 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA

Dates: Saturday, June 20th 2-4pm

2. We will meet at Kadence Art Collective to continue our sculpting explorations. You will now create an armature that will support a bird or birds you would like to create. It (they) could be exotic, fantasized, over-sized or a series of birds that you will design.

2nd session address: Kadence Collective 214 E McLoughlin Blvd, Vancouver, WA

Dates: Saturday June 27th 2-4pm

3. This class will bring our works to conclusion in a studio setting. Problem solving, idea sharing, and exploration of possible settings for final presentation.

Dates: July 11th 2-4pm

4. The works we have created will then begin a drying and bisque firing phase. This usually takes about a week. You will be contacted when your work is ready for the glazing and final firing. We will schedule a time for this to be done at my studio on an individual basis. Post firing, you will be given assistance and guidance in mounting the birds onto their final bases.
